Assessment
Science
Students will be assessed on their ability
to identify the different types of leaves from rubbings that they made.
They should have one rubbing of each type from the leaf guide (10 in all).
The rubbings should be identified and labeled correctly.
The final project will be graded on the basis
that the following information will be included:

Title/Investigative Statement

Team Name
-
At least 6 slides

At least one graph
-
At least 4 pictures

Research information/answers Investigative Statement

Slide of citations/where you got the information

Everyday, you will be given participation points
which are part of your Investigative Project. There is a possibility
of 5 points total.
Math
Students will be assessed by creating calculations
and graphs. The final projects will be assessed on including all
necessary information.

The number and sizes of plots available

The prices of plots
-
The prices of headstones
-
The projected annual income of cemetery
Language Arts
Use the IPS Writing Rubric (Grade 6) to assess
the biography.
Projects to be completed will include:

an epitaph with parts of speech identified.

an example of a gravestone and a one paragraph
biographical description of the deceased.

an annotated research paper that will
depict the life of the well-known person including life achievements, hit
tunes, and headlines of the time period.

a word search or crossword puzzle using
vocabulary that has been identified during the project
-
an obituary of an imaginary person.
Social Studies
Students will be assessed through a research
project that they will complete using the information gathered at the cemetery.
Students will be assessed in two areas: actual project generation/presentation
and hard copy of project with research information used in support of project.
Research information should have been placed in a drop box (located in
angel) for grading.
