Curriculum Objectives

 

  • Student teams will select an area to search for the potential for life or the possibility of intelligent life. This can be a planet in our solar system, a moon of a planet, known planets of other stars, potential planets of other stars, the possibility of life in our galaxy or the possibility of life in the Universe.
  • Student teams will research the various earth biomes to determine the environment boundaries of life as we understand it. This can include Antarctic lakes, deserts, ocean vents and others. We will not explore science fiction creatures such as silicon based life.
  • Once the boundaries have been established the student teams will then research their area to determine if the body meets the criteria for life.
  • The student research team will then produce an 8 -10 minute  persuasive PowerPoint presentation to support their findings.
