"The object of our game with Nature
is not to win, but to keep playing.........."

You will be working in a group that will research the work of a particular artist and the focus he/she is taking toward making a visual statement about the environment.  You will examine the "bias" of the artist, the materials used, the permanence of the work, and what meaning the artist is trying to get across with their visual statement.

Each group will present what they have learned to the group at large.  A discussion will then be held about various ways students might create their own visual statement concerning the environment.  Different bias, approaches, and media will be discussed at this time.

After learning about the artists, you will create your own artwork about some environmental issue or a visual statement you want to make concerning the environment.  You will base your creation on the ideas of one or more of the artists we have looked at in class.
